OUR HISTORY

At the age of 16, Leon Pearce began his career as an Indentured Apprentice Welder for a vessel manufacturer and high-pressure pipelines. He spent three years at the company and developed a keen interest in working with exotic metals like Nickel Alloys, Titanium, and Monel from a young age.

By the time he turned 19, Leon was working as a self-employed Contractor in the role of Pipe Fitter/Welder. He worked for companies such as Air Products, BA Systems, BOC, the nuclear industry, and onshore pipelines.

In 2001, Leon Pearce established Alunox Welding Systems while still working as a Contractor. He rented a small workshop in Rhosddu, Wrexham to support and establish the new business.

By 2010, Alunox Welding Systems had expanded nationally and globally and transitioned into Alunox Race Exhausts. Leon purchased his current premises on the Llay Industrial Estate in Wrexham as the business grew. With a growing reputation for quality and reliability, Leon was able to hire employees for the workshop, marketing, CAD design, and office administration.

In 2016, a period of re-evaluation and investment began. The premises were updated and redecorated, and capital investment was made to purchase new machinery and technology to drive the business forward. This progress continued into 2017 and beyond. Recognising the need for a name change to encompass the various aspects of the business, Alunox became ALUNOX Advanced Tube Engineering Ltd, with product divisions expanding into components, exhausts, and tube bending & fabrication.

ALUNOX unveiled its new logo in 2018 to mark its exciting transition. A new website was launched, with an E-commerce site planned for the near future to streamline the ordering process for customers – both professional constructors and skilled enthusiasts.

ALUNOX primarily receives business through word of mouth and its reputation. This year, ALUNOX plans to wrap its company van to project a more corporate image nationwide.

The expansion has opened up new avenues for research and development. Leon has been working on developing quieter exhaust systems for high-performance cars while maintaining maximum power to meet strict noise regulations at race circuits. Additionally, he has been exploring new titanium systems, including the use of Asnex material, which has reduced weight by 50%, thereby enhancing speed and reducing emissions for race and fast road cars.

ALUNOX Advanced Tube Engineering Ltd remains dedicated to seeking growth and investment opportunities across all aspects of the business. An infrastructure has been put in place that values both its staff and customers as top priorities to ensure that it delivers a service that is professional, of the highest quality, and something to take pride in.
